On hiatus

It looks like I'm heading towards the impending doom... I mean, hiatus. I hope I can get back here soon. I procrastinate too much.

My good ol' car

That's my car. Ford model, Festiva body, Korean made. Runs on 13" tyres, 1300cc, 14 years old.
My car. Broke down by the roadside just as I left for work.
Let me rephrase. It didn't break down; it died.
The battery's been giving it life for the past 5 years, so I guess it's a given that it ran out of ions, or electrons, or whatever is the chemical.
Buying a new one is not cheap either, but we still have to decide on what comes first in our priority list...
"What doesn't kill you make you stronger"
So, dear car, I'm counting on you again for my daily trips.

I'm currently doing this...

I've been putting this off for the longest time in my wedding coverage history... Time hasn't been a good friend since his marriage; what with two times overseas assignments, super-exhausted body after badminton training and other disruptions from my part...Not to mention the endless coverage during His Majesty's 65th birthday celebrations.

I'm halfway into finishing this and I hope to present the album before Hari Raya...

Thanks for your patience, Shibadang.

While editing I'm also watching the ever-so good "How To Train Your Dragon" that I've been keeping since early this year. I won't remove this because I need to watch it when I'm bored. Same goes to BECK the Movie and Megamind...

 Now going back to Photoshop.

Eventful July ~ Part I

July has been a very eventful month due to His Majesty's 65th birthday celebrations. Though not entirely involved in all the programs, but in those I was assigned to, they were all lengthy.

I started with covering the bestowing of State Honours / Decorations to 61 officials and individuals at the Istana Nurul Iman, which is the Royal Residential Palace of His Majesty on the date itself (15th July). It was lengthy indeed, yet exciting. It's been a long while since I last covered big scale events at the Palace.

The next day was a public holiday; but I was assigned somewhere in the capital that ended up it being postponed. I just wasted 50 minutes going there. But a public holiday it was. My occupation denies me weekends and public holidays..

The next program I was in was the Banquet presented by the Uniformed bodies of Government agencies and NGOs. This was the lengthiest one; I ended up spending the night at the office because I became too tired to drive back home. I couldn't sleep at all though...

After the banquet His Majesty proceeded to shaking hands with thousands of the Uniformed members from the Royal Brunei Police Force, Royal Brunei Armed Forces, Fire Fighters, Army Cadets, Scouts, Red Crescents, Girl Guides, the likes. I was so drenched my white baju kurung (the dress code for night functions) was becoming a see-through, thanks to my tudong that covered half my body. I really adore His Majesty for being so patient in meeting members of the public first hand...

It's bad enough that I had to spend the night not in my own bed, but I had another assignment the next morning too. I drove home around 5am, to reach at 6am; I couldn't resist the sleepiness and fell asleep the moment I arrived. More like a nap, though, since I had to leave at 9+ am to be on time for my 10am coverage at the Ministry of Finance.

My job on the 19th involved Her Majesty Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha for the Domestuc Science Exhibition 2011 in conjunction with His Majesty's birthday celebrations. The title translated into "Pameran Urusan Rumah Tangga 2011". It was quite lengthy as well; probably because I was abandoned halfway by my colleague who decided to ditch the event before noon.

On the 20th I was assigned to Kuala Belait, both in the afternoon and at night. They were also a part of His Majesty's birthday celebration, in the form of Khatam Al-Quran.

The 21st on Thursday, His Majesty was scheduled to arrive at 10am in Tutong district for the annual Get-Together session. I dread this not because of the duration, but from the sea of people who showed up to greet His Majesty. The event was so exhilarating that I couldn't have my lunch on time. I had to finish the photo uploads before pampering myself with the goodness of Ideal Cafe and Grill's chicken meal.

I didn't finish it though.

Just like this post because it has become a bit too long for a blog...

Now if you could excuse me..
